CEBI is located at
The University of Southern Denmark - Odense University. Odense is in
the middle
of Denmark, about 1 1/2 hours from Copenhagen, Aarhus and 2
1/2 hours from Hamburg, Germany. For international visitors it will
usually be most convenient to fly to Copenhagen and take the train to
Odense, which leaves from the basement of the airport.
To get to the
university from the airport:
The closest
airports are Copenhagen/Kastrup (CPH) and Billund (BLL).
Copenhagen -
Odense
There is a direct
train link from Copenhagen/Kastrup airport to Odense main station.
Trains normally leave every half hour and the trip takes approximately
2 hours. Check DSB's
Journey Planner for time schedule and reservations.
Billund - Odense
Billund Airport
only has one terminal and a limited selection of international flights.
Upon arriving at Billund Airport, take the
"737 Ekspressbussen" (Express Bus) to "Dannebrogsgade" which
is right behind Odense Railway Station. This trip takes approximately
1½ hours, and costs DKK 100.00 (approx. $ 15). Take a taxi
or bus from the rail station to the University.
To get to the
University by train:
Odense has
excellent train connections. The InterCity arrives every half hour both
from Copenhagen and Fredericia (Jutland). Check DSB's Journey Planner
for time schedule and reservations.
Copenhagen-Odense
The trip from
Copenhagen Central Station directly to Odense takes approximately
1½ hours.
Fredericia-Odense
Fredericia is a
junction for trains coming from different destinations in Jutland and
Germany.
Taxi
in Odense
The easiest but
most expensive way to get around in Odense is by taxi. A trip from the
city center to the University costs approx. DKK 60-80 (approx. USD 10).

Busses in Odense
Odense has a very
extensive bus system (However, we recommend taking a taxi upon
arrival). It costs DKK 11,- to take the bus no matter how far you go.
All busses arrive at, and depart from, the bus terminal situated
immediately behind the railway station - Odense Banegård
Center.
CEBI is in the
Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. You would
typically alight from a bus or have the taxi drop you at Entrance O of
the University. Please walk up the stairs at the entrance. Take the
first right - and the first office on your right is the main office of
CEBI.
It's a bit
confusion, so if you have a mobile phone you may want to call Helle
Mortensen at (+45 6550 2475) if you get lost.
